  10. I don't know why I continue to try -- PageStream 3, despite its power, has
  11. been more of a continual headache than any computer program ought to be.
  12. Talk about giving the Amiga a name for kludginess!  Not only is the program
  13. still vaporware 2 years after it's released, but it will never work in a
  14. pinch when you need it.

  16. Mistake: I upgraded to 3.0i.  Should have stayed behind.  A file which used
  17. to work, still works just fine in PageStream 3.  But when it writes
  18. PostScript: it tries to take an illegal atan.  No printer will print this
  19. damn postscript file.  Previewing it with Post, it draws the whole thing,
  20. but then dies at the end on the atan.  Same problem in GhostView on a Unix
  21. machine ("Unrecoverable Error 1.")  In short, I'm hosed.

  23. It's a perfectly simple drawing-- four ovals filled with various patterns,
  24. ten or so lines, and five or six frameless text objects.  And I need it for
  25. a paper that I'm submitting _right_now_, not to mention a job talk I have to
  26. give momentarily.  I'd drawn it in PageStream, and now I'm regretting that,
  27. because to get the damn thing to print out I will have to re-install
  28. PageStream from scratch and work my way up to version 3.0h.

  30. On the whole, I think it's easier to start the figure over in another
  31. program.
